『TOUCH ME』 is a tactile sense-based book that enables both visually impaired and sighted children to read by touching the pictures. Unlike a regular picture book, diverse materials are used so that the children can feel the shape and the materials themselves. The writing is in Braille, while diverse materials are used for the pictures so that the readers can gain as much information as possible using their hands. Animals’ skin types are depicted by using leather, fur or scale that feel similar to real one so that children can more vividly imagine the shape of the animals.
This book won an excellence prize in Tactus & Typhlo 2011, an international award for tactile illustrated books.
